How I’m Staying Sane During Covid-19
As one that is a natural homebody, I initially did not struggle with the idea of staying home. However, fast forward three months and I’m slowly coming to the realization that my summer travel plans may have indefinitely been put on hold.
“It’s Okay, I’m Okay”
Unlike others, I have no desire to make banana bread. I have however decided to come out of quarantine/self-isolation better than I went in. So today, I’m sharing my top 3 things I’m doing to stay sane.
- Finding creative ways to stay in shape. I’ve recently discovered HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) workouts and they have really changed my mindset to working out. For myself, there is no need to spend countless hours working out anymore. These workouts are short but will keep the heart rate up. I’ve also have walked to and from work (9 miles total) with a minimum of 20 pounds in my backpack.
- Starting a project that I’ve been putting off for years. Every year for the last few years, I told myself that I was going to start my blog. Who knew it would actually take a pandemic to get my creative juices flowing. Writing has definitely become an outlet for me.
- Reconnecting with loved ones. I’m not speaking of past lovers….but maybe some of those friendships you have let fall to the wayside. During this time of crisis, now more than ever is the time to show up for the ones you love.
